We are an interdisciplinary and diverse research team that studies mechanisms of vector transmission of economically important plant viruses. Our research philosophy is anchored in the idea that to manage vector-transmitted plant virus diseases, it is critical to understand molecular and ecological features of the virus, vector and plant host that culminate into transmission. Scientific rigor and collaboration underscore our research mission, and cultural diversity, creativity and mutual respect embody our work environment. Within the context of our funded research initiatives, projects and career-tracks are customized for/with the individual, and cross-training in the principles and protocols of Plant Pathology and Entomology is essential for achieving our goals.
